There will be an open Q&A session and time to mingle and continue conversations following.

Meet our speakers

Keynote Speaker:

Ken Wystma

Ken Wystma, writer, author, and church planner, is the founder of The Justice Conference, which has reached over thirty thousand people across seven countries with a message on a theology of justice and God’s call to give our lives away. Ken is the author of Pursuing Justice, The Grand Paradox, Create vs. Copy, The Myth of Equality, which was named as one of the top five Religion books of 2017 by Publishers Weekly, and Redeeming How We Talk. Ken lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife, Tamara, and their four daughters.

Panelist: Ray causly

Ray Causly graduated from Talbot School of Theology with an MA in New Testament. He is the co-lead pastor at Living Way Community Church and has been in pastoral ministry for over 20 years. He’s a Black man who has been married for 22 years to his wife Ruth, (a White woman). He has lived and taught in the City of Compton for over 15 years (Latino and Black community) with four children ranging from 21 to 16 years old, pastoring a predominantly Korean congregation! He loves to listen to Scripture while working out, write rap lyrics, read fantasy books, watch cartoons alone, watch movies with his wife, surf with his son, and play board games with his daughters. Most of all, Ray loves Jesus: the Lord, Savior, and Treasure of his life.

panelist: juliana pichay

Juliana comes from a large Filipino and Italian family who taught her the importance of caring for others. She graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a BA in Psychology and minor in Gender Studies. She has conducted research on Race and Gender in Christian Fellowships and engaged in community organizing with a labor union in Los Angeles. She is presently pursuing a Masters of Social Work with the goal of providing both interpersonal and systemic care for marginalized communities. She also currently works for Solid Rock Church where she educates on various social issues, coordinates food boxes for low income families, and pushes for fair housing with the coalition Pomona United for Stable Housing.

panelist: jeff liou

Rev. Dr. Jeff Liou serves on staff with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship as Director of Theological Formation. Jeff has also worked as a pastor, university chaplain, and adjunct professor. He earned his PhD from Fuller Theological Seminary, where he studies the intersection of race and theology. Jeff has contributed chapters to books on Asian American Christianity and ethics in pastoral ministry. Jeff lives in Southern California with his wife, Lisa, and their two children.
